NETWORK STORAGE

Storage in the past had to reside on hard disks located within individual servers. Now, network attached storage (NAS) offers superior accessibility. NAS devices attach to a LAN through Ethernet connection(s), providing disk storage as an independent network device. Multiple NAS devices or "boxes" can be added to the LAN, enabling you to increase network storage as necessary. NAS systems are defined in storage terms by their drive support, the total number of drives and their total capacity. Both SATA and Fiber -drives can be used in NAS. The drive technology used is determined by the applications that use the storage.
